Abstract: 【Abstract】Objective Based on VOSviewer, CiteSpace software and web of Science (WOS) database, to visually analyze the research status and trends of opioid free anesthesia literature from 2004 to 2023. Methods All opioid free anesthesia studies published between 2004 and 2023 were retrieved from the web of science core collection database. VOSviewer and CiteSpace were used for bibliometric analysis and network visualization, including annual publication volume, contributions of journals, countries, institutions and authors, references and keywords. Results A total of 736 literatures and reviews were included, and the number of annual literatures on opioid free anesthesia showed a significant growth trend. In terms of contributions, the United States has published the most papers (308 articles, 41.8%), the University of Toronto in Canada has published the most papers (20 articles, 2.7%), Kehlet H from Denmark has published the most papers (15 articles, 2%), and the journal with the most publications is Anastasia and Analgesia (33 articles, 4.5%).. Key words co-occurrence and burst analysis revealed that postoperative pain, pain management, analgesia, enhanced recovery, postoperative nausea and vomiting, nerve block, liposomal bupivacaine, total intravenous anesthesia and other research has been the research frontier in this field, and also has great potential to continue to become a research hotspot in the future. Conclusion The research of opioid free anesthesia has received more and more attention. This paper comprehensively analyzes the knowledge base, research hotspots and development prospects of opioid free anesthesia, which can provide references for scholars in this field.
