Abstract: The objective assessment of cognitive function has been highlighted while current available evaluation methods are with various limitations. The eye movement, characterized by fixation, saccade, and pursuit movement, has been realized to be related to cognitive function. Previous studies on cognitive function have focused on three types of eye movement indices including time indicators, spatial indicators and pupil changes. This paper aims to review the association between eye movement and cognitive function, to analyze the neural pathways linkage between eye movement and cognitive function, to summarize the relationship between eye movement and memory, attention, and rapid response,so as to evaluate the feasibility of eye-tracking reflecting cognitive function.
