Abstract: Medical professional terminology is different from other professions. Apart from traditional Chinese medicine, the professional terms of clinical medicine are mostly abroad. Due to the lack of a unified authority for translating the loanwords into Chinese, there are multiple ways to express certain drugs or other terms in Chinese. Anesthesiology is also the same status. Drug names related to anesthesia, professional terminology (anatomical names, technical names, etc.), and dosage units are all need to be standardized. Currently, when compiling textbooks or some monographs, publishing houses usually require the author to use standardized professional terminology according to national regulations. However, in other aspects such as expert consensus, guidelines, quality control standards and group standards, especially in the publication of articles in anesthesiology-related journals, the use of professional terminology is not strictly followed. The application of professional terminology not only reflects the education level of professionals, but also reflects their professional literacy and professional level. This article aims to remind relevant organizations, institutions, or management personnel to attach importance to and strengthen the professional terminology of this profession, in order to enhance the overall level of anesthesiologists and shape a rigorous external academic image.
