Abstract: Cyclopropofol is a new type of intravenous general anaesthetic independently developed in China, which is a 2,6‑disubstituted phenol derivative, similar to propofol. This paper mainly introduces the anaesthetic effect, onset time and recovery time of cypropofol, as well as the advantages of fast onset, fast recovery, strong sedative effect, light inhibition of circulatory system and respiratory system, no accumulation, high efficiency, low incidence of injection pain and less limb movement. It can be used for induction and maintenance of general anaesthesia, gastroenteroscopy anaesthesia, fibreoptic bronchoscopy anaesthesia, day surgery anaesthesia, and intensive care treatment ward sedation, is a promising clinical anaesthesia. This article reviews the basic and clinical studies of cyclopropofol, with a view to providing a reference for future research on cyclopropofol in other fields.
