Abstract: Objective To investigate and summarize the current situation of perioperative pain management in Henan Province. Methods A survey questionnaire was designed according to the actual requirements of the National Health Commission for perioperative pain management, and its contents mainly included: ① basic information of the hospital; ② preoperative evaluation; ③ acute postoperative pain management; ④ acute pain service (APS) organization; ⑤patient-controlled analgesia (PCA); ⑥ collection of analgesic information. In 2020 and 2022, a survey was conducted on perioperative pain management in Henan Province. Results In 2020 and 2022, 46 and 93 hospitals participated in the survey respectively, and the survey in 2020 was dominated by tertiary hospitals. According to the survey results, 91.3% (2020) and 90.3% (2022) of the hospitals conducted preoperative assessment, and 91.3% (2020) and 84.9% (2022) of the hospitals performed postoperative analgesic follow-up. However, only 47.8% (2020) and 29% (2022) of hospitals have APS teams, and 82.6% (2020) and 60.2% (2022) of hospitals will communicate analgesic information to the surgical team. At present, the most commonly used postoperative analgesia method is PCA, accounting for 73.9% (2020) and 94.6% (2022). Conclusions In recent years, some progress has been made in perioperative pain management in Henan Province, but there are still deficiencies to be improved, such as the popularization of nerve blocks, the establishment of APS groups, the promotion of Ai-PCA, and the optimization of analgesic information management.
