Abstract: Airway management is an essential component of clinical anesthesia and a critical skill that anesthesiologists must master. Currently, artificial intelligence (AI) has been gradually applied in clinical anesthesia, including preoperative airway risk assessment, airway establishment, and skill training, among other aspects of airway management. The article reviews the current application of AI in clinical airway management and related skill training, including the assessment of difficult airways, robot‑assisted tracheal intubation, determination of intubation position, airway monitoring during mechanical ventilation, perioperative adverse airway events, prediction of the time to tracheal intubation/extubation, simulation training, remote teaching, and expert databases. These approaches will provide new insights for improving the strategies of airway management in the perioperative period.
