Abstract: Massive obstetric hemorrhage (MOH) is recognized as the leading cause of maternal mortality. The parturients not only have a decreased blood capacity but also suffer consequent coagulation dysfunction, severe hypotension, acidosis, and hypothermia. The anesthesiologists play an essential role in the treatment of critically ill parturients. In this review, we summarize the latest advances in fluid replacement strategy, massive blood transfusion protocol, coagulation dysfunction treatment, and vasoactive drugs to provide hints for massive obstetric hemorrhage rescue.
