Abstract: Double‑lumen endotracheal tube (DLT) is the most commonly used tool for lung isolation in thoracic surgery, in which bronchial cuff is an important component to ensure one‑lung ventilation. The management of bronchial cuff can directly affect the effect of lung isolation and affect the clinical outcome of patients. This article reviews the classification of the bronchial cuff of DLT, the influencing factors of bronchial cuff pressure and its monitoring methods, the positioning management of bronchial cuff during intubation, the judgment of DLT displacement and its potential roles in special cases, so as to deepen the understanding of bronchial cuff management. Future research on bronchial cuff will be carried out to create more simple, convenient and fast new techniques and methods for better management.
