General topics in anesthesiology of neurosurgery include three aspects: anesthesiology for brain tumor patients, anesthesiology for cerebral vascular surgery and anesthesiology for traumatic brain injury. This review summarized literatures published in 2018 pertaining to the perioperative care of neurosurgical patients and patients with neurological diseases according to the three categories mentioned above. The topics include management of related disease in perioperative period, drugs used in perioperative period, methods of anesthesia and monitoring of perioperative period.
