Abstract: Background Wnt signaling is a highly conserved pathway and plays a critical role in neurogenesis. Objective To explain the role of canonical Wnt signaling on neurogenesis. Content This review summarized the latest general studies of canonical Wnt/β-catenin signaling on neurogenesis including proliferation, differentiation, asymmetric cell division of neural stem cells and adult neurogenesis. Trend Understanding how Wnt signaling effects neurogenesis will be helpful for new strategies of clinical usage.
